The goal of calibration and validation activities is to verify the accuracy and quality of data the instrument acquired.
The Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) aboard ALOS-1 was a successor sensor to the synthetic aperture radar on-board JERS-1 with more advanced functions such as higher spatial resolution capability, variable off-nadir angles and additional modes such as full-polarimetry mode and ScanSAR mode.
You can directly download ALOS PALSAR data from a number of online dissemination systems. All data is freely available to registered EO Sign In users.
