Flooding in Brazil - June-July 201411 July 2014 - These Landsat 8 images, acquired 05 July 2014, show a large area of flooding near Sao Borja city, in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The southern Brazilian state has been affected by floods since late June 2014, which forced 6,000 people to evacuate. 
Flood - Thailand, October 2011The 2011 monsoon season caused flooding in Thailand that lasted from July 2011 to January 2012 following Tropical Storm Nock-ten. 815 people died in the disaster and over 13 million were affected. The flooding affected almost the entirety of Thailand to some degree. 
Flood - Australia, January 2011Over 200,000 people were affected by flooding in Queensland, Australia, during December 2010 and January 2011. 38 people died and thousands of homes were inundated by floodwaters. 
Flood - United Kingdom, July 2007Following one of the wettest months in Britain's weather records, the UK and Northern Ireland suffered a series of floods between June and July 2007. 13 people were killed and much of the country was affected. 
Flood - Elbe River (Germany), April 2006The water level of the Elbe River rose to 150-year records in April 2006, leading to flooding in the town of Hitzacker where the water level rose to almost 8 metres. Many buildings were destroyed and the inundation caused widespread damage. 
Flood - Europe, August 2005The state of Bavaria, in Germany, was one of the many places affected by the 2005 flooding in Europe. The River Danube burst its banks and caused widespread flooding in August. 
Flood - China (Jiangxi), July 2005A dike burst in the Fu River in Jiangxi Province, China, following heavy rain across ten Chinese provinces in June 2005. 35,000 people were evacuated in Jiangxi Province, and the widespread flooding in China claimed 200 lives. 
Flood - Philippines, November 2004The Philippines were struck by a series of tropical storms in the latter part of 2004. The flooding that resulted from the storm in late November killed 300 people in the eastern Philippines. 
Flood - China (Jiangsu), September 2004172 died following a series of storms in southern China in September 2004. 100,000 people were left homeless and the Yangtze River was dangerously close to bursting its banks. 
Flood - France, December 2003Heavy rain caused flooding along the Rhone River in France during December 2003, leaving thousands of people homeless as their homes were inundated and killing five people. 
Flood - Moscow (Russia), July 2002141 people were killed in flooding in southern Russia during July 2002, following torrential rain. It was described as the worst flooding Russia had seen in decades.

Flood - Val d'Aosta (Valais, Swtizerland), October 2000Heavy rain caused flooding in Switzerland and northern Italy in October 2000. This series of ERS SAR images examine the flooding. 
Hungary, April 2000On the 9th of April 2000, the Hungarian government declared parts of eastern Hungary a disaster area, allowing the release of funding to combat floods. Hungary's second largest river, the Tisza, and several tributaries flooded large tracts of land, destroying many homes and threatening hundreds of others. Hundreds of residents were evacuated.
