MIAMI, Oct 25, 2011 (From AFP) - Hurricane Rina swelled to a category two storm early Tuesday as it swept towards Mexico's Yucatan peninsula and popular Caribbean beach resorts Cancun and Cozumel, US forecasters said. The Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Rina was packing 100 mile (160 kilometer) per hour winds and could become a "major hurricane" by Tuesday night or early Wednesday, before approaching the coast on Thursday. Central America is still struggling to recover from recent torrential rains that triggered deadly flooding and landslides, swamped huge swathes of farmland, and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage.More than 100 people across the region were killed, including 36 deaths in Guatemala, 34 in El Salvador and 18 in Honduras.
