Fast Registration with Approval (Restrained): This EarthCARE JAXA L2 collection is available only to the EarthCARE Commissioning Team.

Access Steps:

1. Create or log in to the ESA User Services Portal (an institutional email address is required for new accounts).
2. Download and sign the "Special condition for data access" document .
3. Submit the form by attaching the signed "Special condition for data access" document.
4. The request will be evaluated by ESA (usually within 2 days).
5. Upon successful evaluation, you will receive a confirmation email.
6. A second email will follow with detailed download instructions.
7. Access the products via the the ESA Online Dissemination Service or Exploring Earth service.

EarthCARE products can also be discovered through ESA's Exploring Earth service, which allows users to browse and download products among the available datasets from ESA and Third Party Missions and instruments, using various criteria (spatial, temporal).

This EarthCARE collection contains the following data products:

• Level 2A (L2A): Single-Instrument Geophysical Products
  These products are derived from individual instrument data onboard EarthCARE. They provide detailed geophysical parameters and properties specific to each instrument's capabilities for example cloud and aerosol properties derived solely from radar or lidar measurements, offering high-resolution insights into atmospheric phenomena.  

• Level 2B(L2B): Synergistic Geophysical Products
  L2b products leverage data from multiple EarthCARE instruments to generate comprehensive, synergistic geophysical datasets. By combining measurements from instruments like radar, lidar, and radiometers, these products offer a more integrated view of cloud-aerosol interactions and atmospheric dynamics.
  
  Compared to single-instrument outputs, synergistic products offer: 
  • enhanced accuracy, 
  • greater depth, 
  • support for detailed studies of complex atmospheric processes.
