Collection Description

The Aeolus Level 1A (L1A) product (ALD_U_N_1A) provides binary geolocated unprocessed data. The L1A product is an intermediate output of the Level 0 (L0) to Level 1B (L1B) processing chain and contains the geolocation, the satellite and instrument house-keeping data, and the Rayleigh and Mie spectrometer counts on the pixel scale of the Accumulation Charge-Coupled Devise (ACCD) detector.

The L1A data is provided on measurement (~3 km) horizontal resolution. The basic granularity is one L1A product file per orbit. The product ALD_U_N_1A is available as binary data block file (.DBL) with an additional header file (.HDR).
