MERIS Catalogue and Inventory (MERCI)

The ERS/Envisat (A)ATSR dataset is available through the ATSR MERCI system.

Both http and ftp access are available to this product set that has been processed with the same algorithm and so represents a homogeneous product set from August 1991 to April 2012 (ref 3rd reprocessing).

FTP users can download all ATSR-1, ATSR-2 and AATSR Level-1b and Level-2 products in Envisat format (TOA_1P, NR_2P, AR_2P and MET_2P).

Additionally, FTP users also have access to the L2P and L3U products providing (A)ATSR data in NetCDF-4 format.

For all three ATSR instruments, Level-1b and Level-2 products (TOA_1P and NR_2P) can also be browsed through the ATSR MERCI interface which allows users to select geographical areas of interest and search for products for specific periods of time.

See related news on the (A)ATSR 3rd Reprocessing of 13 December 2013.

AATSR Level 3 products

As a demonstration, global SST (Sea Surface Temperature) Level 3 products from AATSR from September 2002 to January 2005 have been generated at two spatial resolutions, 10 arcminutes and 30 arcminutes. The data are provided in 2 formats, PNG (Portable Network Graphic) and HDF (Hierarchical Data Format).

  • Access to AATSR demonstration Level 3 products is provided free of charge.

MERIS Catalogue and Inventory (MERCI)

MERCI is a web-based application that provides access to the complete Envisat MERIS Level 1 Full Resolution Full Swath data products (MER_FRS_1P).

The MERCI regional extraction tool allows for search on a specific timeframe, definition of geographical area and visualisation of available products and quick looks. Bulk download of selected files is also possible.

The MERCI file archive contains the full bulk processed MERIS FRS Level 1 dataset (released end 2013) covering the period from 17 May 2002 to 08 April 2012. The same dataset is also available via nominal FTP.

Yearly and global density maps are available to get a better overview of the MERIS FRS coverage.

See related news on the MERIS L1 FRS data availability of 20 December 2013.

MERIS Catalogue and Inventory (MERCI)

MERCI is a web-based application that provides access to the complete Envisat MERIS Reduced Resolution (RR) 3rd reprocessed dataset (mid-2002 to April 2012).

It allows the selection of a geographical area, the visualisation of the list of available products and quicklooks, and the download of one or more file extractions corresponding to the time and area of interest.

For information on the content and quality of the reprocessed data, please see the MERIS PCS Webpage and the MERIS 3rd data reprocessing - Reprocessing Changes document. (PDF 20.5 Mb)

MERIS Level 3 products

Taking advantage of the Level 2 MERIS data re-processing, a number of demonstration MERIS Level 3 products have been generated for the complete mission. They have been processed using the standard Level 2 products processed with the last processor version.

  • Access to MERIS demonstration Level 3 products is provided free of charge.

GlobCover Land Cover product

The GlobCover system is an automated global classification chain based on ENVISAT's MERIS FR 300m. Level 1B data covering the period between December 2004 and June 2006. The product consists of a global mosaic and eleven regional mosaics, accompanied by the relevant documentation, legend and colour maps.

  • The land cover product is available for download as a global mosaic and/or as a series of regional mosaics.

Proba online archive

The CHRIS and HRC data available from ESA can be browsed from the PROBA on-line archive. In order to identify quickly the file of interest, the server is sortable by name, date and site. New data are regularly transferred to the ESRIN server after processing by SIRA/UK.

Kompsat online archive

The Kompsat-1 European cities dataset is available from the ESA Kompsat on-line archive.

In order to identify quickly the file of interest, the server is sortable by name, date and site.
