Minimize Earth Watching: 1993 - 2020

These two animations, created using images from previous articles, look back on the Earth Watching project, which has now ended.

The project began in 1993, as a way to demonstrate the benefits of remote sensing and to monitor natural disasters, a contribution that helped in the creation of the International Charter: Space and Major Disasters in 2000.

Beginning with the demonstration of ERS (European Remote Sensing) imagery, the Earth Watching project later showcased imagery from Envisat, the Landsat missions, and finally the Copernicus Sentinel-1 and -2 missions.

After 27 years, we thank everyone that has collaborated with us with pride, commitment and love to the Earth Watching project.
