This Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) multitemporal colour composite image is centred over Helsinki (large bright area) the capital and largest city, and chief seaport of Finland, as well as the capital of Uusimaa.

It is located in the southern part of Finland on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Helsinki forms a conurbation with three other surrounding cities, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, which are together called the capital area.

The image is made of three ERS-2 SAR PRI (Precision Radar Image) images acquired on different dates and assigning a colour (RGB) to each date of acquisition.
