Envisat MERIS Full Resolution Full Swath Gallery 2007This series features MERIS FRS products acquired by the instrument aboard Envisat from around the world in 2007. 
Envisat - 25,000 orbits - December 2006The Envisat satellite, launched in 2002 recently achieved 25,000 orbits. To celebrate the satellite circling our world a quarter of a million times, these two images feature views acquired on that 25,000th orbit. 
Algal blooms (Baltic Sea) - July 2005This Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) image, acquired on 13 July 2005 over the Baltic Sea, shows a large population of algal blooms (the green area visible in the centre of the image). 
Great Lakes (United States of America)This Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) image was acquired over the five Great Lakes in the north-East of the United States. 
Nubian Region (Africa)This Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) image, acquired on 08 August 2004 shows the Nubian Region, located in southern Egypt and northern Sudan. 
EgyptThis Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) image, acquired on 22 July 2004, shows Egypt. 
Latium Province and Naples (Italy)These two Envisat images, acquired with the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR), show the Latium Province and the city of Naples and its surroundings, in Italy. 
Danube River (Romania)This wide-swath radar image (400km wide) acquired at Kiruna Station on 06 June 2004 shows the Danube River crossing the image from Serbia, where the city of Belgrade is located on its banks and is visible as a large bright area (left) to where it forms the natural borderline between Bulgaria and Romania. 
Normandy (France)This wide-swath radar image (400km wide) acquired at Kiruna Station on 03 June 2004 shows Normandy (or Normandie as it is known in French), a region and former province of France, bordering on the English Channel. 
Dhaka and surroundings (Bangladesh)This Envisat ASAR image, acquired during May 2004, shows Dhaka (or Dacca) city, capital of Bangladesh, in the Dhaka Division. |
