As of 29 November 2023, access to the ERS-1/2 and Envisat Radar Altimeter data will be changed from simple FTP to FTP-S.

The data accessible via FTP-S can be downloaded via an FTP client (e.g., FileZilla or WinSCP) using the options "explicit FTP over TLS if available" or "Require explicit FTP over TLS". 

Hostname, userID, and password for the affected accounts will remain unchanged. 

The following ERS-1/2 and Envisat data collections will be subject to the FTP-S migration:  

ERS-1/2
Host: ra-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int 

• ERS-1/2 Radar Altimeter REAPER Geophysical Data Record - GDR [ERS_ALT_2]
• ERS-1/2 Radar Altimeter REAPER Sensor Geophysical Data Record - SGDR [ERS_ALT_2S]
• ERS-1/2 Radar Altimeter REAPER METEO Product - [ERS_ALT_2M]

Envisat
Host: ra2-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• Envisat RA-2 Geophysical Data Record - GDR [RA2_GDR__2P]
• Envisat RA-2 Sensor and Geophysical Data Record - SGDR [RA2_MWS__2P]
