How can I download CryoSat data?

Access data through the CryoSat Science Server. Data can be downloaded via FTPS or HTTPS.


FTPS

Download CryoSat data in bulk via FTP at ftp://science-pds.cryosat.esa.int/

An active EO Sign In account is required to log in to the server.

Data can be downloaded through FTP clients, such as Filezilla and WinSCP. Enter the following details in your client:

  • Host: science-pds.cryosat.esa.int
  • Protocol: FTP
  • Encryption: Explicit encryption
  • Port: 21
  • User name: Enter your EO Sign In account name
  • Password: Enter the password for your EO Sign In account

HTTPS

Download CryoSat data via HTTPS on the CryoSat Science Server. A login with an EO Sign In account is required.

Troubleshooting

If you experience difficulty accessing the CryoSat FTP on port 21 can modify the port settings by using the port range 62222 to 63333, in Passive mode.

It is strongly recommended to verify with the local IT department that this port range is open on the relevant firewall.
