Overview

Reference data, methods and tools for Data Quality Assessment

The following documents describe the methods, algorithms, reference datasets and tools used for the EDAP optical, SAR and atmospheric data quality assessment. The reference data, methods (published or in the form of an ATBD) are openly available to the community. References to standard methods can be found in the CEOS WGCV Cal/Val portal.

Reference tools

The following tools were used for the Quality Assessment and are openly available to the community.

KARIOS SAR and Optical

Within the EDAP+ context, a new tool dedicated to geometric assessment has been created, referred to as KARIOS (Kanade Lucas Tomasi (KLT) -based Algorithm for Registration of Images from Observing System), distributed under the Apache license v2.0 and available here. Among its features, KARIOS enables:

• Multi temporal geolocation to evaluate the geolocation stability of a mission

• Absolute geolocation to evaluate the geolocation accuracy of an input image grid against a well-controlled absolute reference image

• Band-to band registration to evaluate co-registration between image band grids, all within the same product
