Oroville Dam Crisis (California), 2017

In early February 2017 storms caused damage to the Oroville Dam spillways, hindering the safe release of floodwater. These images, acquired by the Landsat satellite, show the state of the dam during the event. The first image, taken during the event, shows the high rise in water level of the lake and the spillway. The second image, acquired during the alert, more clearly reveals the area damaged.
