This ALOS-1 image was acquired by the PRISM instrument on 30 September 2007 and shows Lake Victoria in Uganda. 
Lake Victoria has a surface area of approximately 60 km2, and contains many small islands. This satellite image captured mainland Uganda (left) and inhabited islands (right and bottom). The Buvuma Islands consist of more than 50 islands; which are home to 26 forest reserves. These is islands are located off Lake Victoria’s northern region.
