Hurricane Rina, a tropical cyclone, formed in the Caribbean Sea in October 2011. It gradually intensified, reaching Category 3 status at its peak. While initially posing a threat to parts of Central America and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Rina weakened before making landfall, ultimately causing minimal impact compared to earlier projections.
