EO Sign In Authentication (Open): This collection is openly accessible but requires users to log in with an EO Sign In account (a single sign-on system used across European Space Agency (ESA) Earth Observation services) before any downloads can proceed. 

Access Steps:

1. Create or log in to EO Sign In account.
2. Go to the ESA Online Dissemination Service.
3. Browse or search for the collection. 
4. Download the product.

This service provides the latest reprocessed version (v4) of the Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) Full Resolution (FR) and Reduced Resolution (RR) Level 1 and Level 2 data.
Data is available for download via

• HTTPS: including bulk download functionality.
• FTPS: (ftps://meris-ds.eo.esa.int) using your EO Sign In credentials. 

Envisat products can also be discovered through ESA's Exploring Earth service, which allows users to browse and download products among the available datasets from ESA and Third Party Missions and instruments, using various criteria (spatial, temporal).

Worldwide

The MERIS FR Level 2 is a geophysical product for ocean, land, and atmosphere. Each MERIS Level 2 product is derived from a MERIS Level 1 product and auxiliary parameter files. Since the 4th reprocessing in July 2020, the product uses a Sentinel-3-like format. 

The data package is composed of NetCDF 4 files that contain instrumental and scientific measurements, along with a Manifest file that holds metadata. A Level 2 product includes 64 measurement files with water-leaving reflectance, land surface reflectance, and Top-Of-Atmosphere (TOA) reflectance, as well as additional files for ocean, land, and atmospheric parameters. 

The product covers the complete instrument swath. The duration and size of the product are variable and depend on the start and stop times of the acquired segment. During the Envisat mission, the acquisition of MERIS FR data was subject to dedicated on-demand planning for specific areas.
