Following the successful
1st PolInSAR workshop held in ESRIN in January 2003, The European
Space Agency hosted the 2nd international workshop on applications
of polarimetry and polarimetric interferometry.
The
workshop was held at ESRIN, Frascati, Italy on 17-21 January 2005.
Workshop recommendations are now available.
Participation
The
Workshop was open to ESA Principal Investigators, scientists and students working
in the field of SAR Polarimetry and Polarimetric Interferometry (Pol-InSAR), and
to representatives from national, European and international space
agencies.
Objectives
The main objectives of the
workshop were to:
- Provide
a forum for scientific exchange
- Present
new results from the latest studies in the field
- Present
the geophysical parameters that can be retrieved and their accuracy
- Assess
the available Pol-InSAR tools and data sets
- Demonstrate
the latest techniques and users tools
- Assess
the state of the art in the field
- Make
recommendations for algorithm development and new products
- Formulate
recommendations for future missions and applications
- Report
on progress/status of recommentations of PolInSAR 2003
Organization
The workshop was organized
around:
- Papers/Posters
selected by the scientific committee
- Invited
papers (ESA studies)
- Round
table discussions seeded with questions prepared by the Scientific Committee
and ESA
