Envisat MERIS Galleries
The Envisat satellite was launched in 2002 and served as ESA's flagship for ten years, until the mission ended in 2012. The satellite carried ten separate instruments which gathered a variety of imagery for environmental applications during it's operational lifetime. Due to this, it was also the largest Earth observation satellite ever launched. One of the instruments Envisat carried was MERIS (MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer). This medium resolution instrument was a popular choice for image applications. This section features a series of galleries which celebrate some of the imagery acquired by the Envisat satellite for its varied applications.
