Konstantina Rizopoulou obtained a Master of Research (M.Res.) in Ocean Remote Sensing in 2009 from University of Southampton, UK where she explored the feasibility of applying recently developed Spherical Wavelet techniques to represent the variability of the global ocean surface topography as measured by satellite altimetry. Previously, she had gained a M.Sc. in Geographical Information Science in 2004 from University of Nottingham in UK where she carried out her thesis on Change Detection Techniques using Multi-date Landsat TM imagery on semi-arid environments.

Since October 2009, Konstantina has been working at ESA/ESRIN, located in Frascati, Italy, in ESA’s Earth Observation Directorate in Ground Segment Department for the Data Quality and Algorithms Development Office (EOP-GQ). Her focus is on the Quality Indicator (QI) Definition and Implementation for the Sentinel-3 Altimetric Data Products in alignment with the 'A Quality Assurance Framework for Earth Observation' (QA4EO) Guidelines.

Main research interests are satellite altimetry and modern statistical techniques on oceanographic applications.
