Title: Sea-surface temperature from ERS

Description: The Along Track Scanning Radiometer on ERS provided the capability to accurately track sea-surface temperature. This variable is important in the exchange processes of energy and moisture between the ocean and the atmosphere, and therefore essential for climate monitoring. Thanks to ERS, we have a near continuous dataset of sea-surface temperature going back to 1991.
