Title: Local communities dig bunds in Sub-Saharan Africa

Description: Justdiggit’s project to regreen areas of Sub-Saharan Africa is a community-focused effort and, to date, 315 000 bunds have been excavated in selected regions. Optical imagery collected by commercial remote sensing missions is key to the initiative’s success, helping the team choose appropriate areas for project sites, as well as providing quantifiable metrics on subsequent regrowth.
