Title: Landsat 8 captures Australian wildfires

Description: In the summer of 2019-20, record-breaking temperatures and months of severe drought fuelled a series of massive bushfires across Australia. In the Wollemi National Park, the Gospers Mountain fire burned more than 500,000 hectares after igniting following a lightning strike in October. These Landsat 8 images, captured on 24 July 2019 and 31 December 2019, show the region before and during the fires, respectively. The images are processed in infrared false colour to highlight the burned areas.
