Commercial data quality activities to receive a boost at VH-RODA 2024
World-leading experts, New Space data providers, international space agencies and the scientific community will present the status of state-of-the-art satellite products and explore the latest developments in Calibration/Validation (Cal/Val) at ESA’s fifth VH-RODA workshop.
New Announcement of Opportunity offers maritime monitoring data from Unseenlabs
ESA is offering access to radio-frequency data in a new Announcement of Opportunity for Unseenlabs. The Unseenlabs constellation currently consists of 15 satellites, which perform radio-frequency (RF) detection to enhance Maritime Domain Awareness. Data from the satellites complement Automatic Identification System (AIS), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and VMS (Vessel Monitoring System) technologies, improving capabilities to monitor maritime activity.
5 reasons to be excited about Cryo2ice
We are living in a golden age of satellite altimetry. ESA’s CryoSat mission, with its unbroken 14-year (and counting) radar altimeter record of global ice and water, is right at the heart of it.
New query history and Time Series Processing features for cs2eo
New features have been added to the CryoSat data and information services platform cs2eo.
Unlocking ESA's Heritage Missions data archive
Join us as we enter ESA's Heritage Missions data archive, which stores Earth observation data dating back to the 1970s.
Dismissal of “ground” FTP account on CryoSat Cal/Val server
The "ground" FTP account on the CryoSat Cal/Val server will be dismissed on 23 September 2024.
CryoTEMPO Polar Ocean Baseline C data updated
The CryoTEMPO Polar Ocean Baseline C version 2 has now been generated and uploaded to the CryoSat science server. The new version will also be integrated into the CryoSat data platform cs2eo.
New version of the CryoSat User Tool (CUT) now available
The CryoSat User Tool (CUT) is an application for displaying and downloading CryoSat products from remote FTP servers or from local directories.
New Sea Ice and Snow Depth datasets, plus new geospatial coverage features on cs2eo
New features have been added to the CryoSat data platform cs2eo.
Third Party Missions data contribute to success of ESA's Global Development Assistance
ESA's GDA is the Global Development Assistance programme, implemented in partnership with International Financial Institutions, to mainstream Earth Observation (EO) technology in global development operations by responding directly to their operational requirements and needs of stakeholders in developing countries.
Updated CryoSat-2 magnetometer data now available on Swarm dissemination server
An improved version of the CryoSat-2 magnetic field data with baseline 0303 is now available on the Swarm Dissemination Server.
Feedback wanted on CryoSat data platform cs2eo
The data services platform cs2eo makes it easy to access, compare and download satellite altimetry data.
CryoSat data platform cs2eo features new interface and datasets
The latest updates to cs2eo, a high performance platform to access, compare and download datasets from CryoSat, ICESat-2, CRYO2ICE, CryoVEx, Cryo-TEMPO-EOLIS and Operation IceBridge, were released on 13 August.
HydroGNSS
HydroGNSS is a microsatellite mission, which is part of the Scout framework, and consists of a GNSS-R (Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry) constellation that primarily addresses land. Scout missions are a new element in ESA's Earth Observation FutureEO Programme.
Showcasing success stories from ESA's CryoSat mission
ESA's ice mission, CryoSat, was launched in 2010 and carried an advanced radar altimeter to measure Earth's cryosphere.
Spotlight on Third Party Mission provider: Airbus
Airbus' space technologies have a growing impact on people's daily life: from deep-space exploration and scientific missions, to today's most reliable secure telecommunications and Earth observation (EO) satellites.
How ESA's Third Party Missions support European commercialisation
ESA's Third Party Missions programme consists of Earth observation satellites that are owned by commercial and public organisations around the world.
New stories on change detection and ERS-2 re-entry in HEDAVI
Two new stories are now available in ESA’s HEDAVI (HEritage DAta VIsualisation) tool. HEDAVI visualises Earth observation data from satellites in ESA’s Heritage and Third Party Missions programme, and includes some data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites.
Showcasing Earth Explorer success stories from around the world
The Earth Explorers programme consists of a series of satellites that share the common goal of advancing Earth science by helping answer principal scientific questions through observation of Earth’s key systems.
IceSAR 2019
The ICESAR 2019 study was motivated by the need to improve the understanding of radar backscatter of sea ice at different wavelengths and polarisations.
