Version 0501 of the Swarm Level-2 Equatorial Electric Field (EEF) product is now available on the Swarm Dissemination Server at the following path:

Data coverage:

• Swarm A: 26 November 2013 – 25 September 2025
• Swarm B: 27 November 2013 – 28 September 2025
• Swarm C: 25 November 2013 – 12 October 2025

Key improvements in Version 0501:

• Full local time coverage: Data are now processed across all local times, extending beyond the previous 06:00–18:00 LTAN/LTDN range.
• Enhanced magnetic field modeling: Vector components (Bx and Bz) are now used instead of a single scalar component to recover the Sq field and EEJ current system.
• Updated background models: The IRI and MSIS models used in electric field computations have been upgraded to their latest versions.

Please note that additional improvements are currently being implemented in the EEF data production code. Once these updates are finalized, daily production will resume.
