Title: SMOS data can detect the extent of matter expelled in solar events

Description: This image acquired by the ESA-NASA-SOHO spacecraft shows a widely spreading coronal mass ejection. Recent research has shown how SMOS data can be used to measure the mass expelled during such events, in order to help predict the subsequent space weather impacts.
