Fires on Samos Island (Greece) in July 2000

The satellite images depict the aftermath of the July 2000 fire on Samos Island, Greece. These pictures show the widespread damage caused by the intense blaze. On July 9, 2000, Landsat satellite images showed active fires in yellow and orange, with smoke and burnt areas visible. The merge with the Landsat 7 Panchromatic band makes it possible to improve the resolution of the image, reaching a higher detailed level on towns and roads for example (image number 3).
