General Specifications
Volumes 1 and 2 of the SAFE Control Books define the SAFE Core Specifications and the Recommendation for Specialisations.
The SAFE Base Representation Information Package is a SAFE package which gathers schemas and other assets (e.g. documents) that constitute the basic set of information that an archive needs in order to fully support SAFE 2.x. The package includes, among others:
- The SAFE conformance class schemas: definition of the types of SAFE Package (in terms of a package class hierarchy) and the two available SAFE conformance classes (LTDP and Operational).
- The SAFE metadata schemas: the basic metadata schemas used in SAFE (OGC EOP O&M for EO Product metadata, SAFE Auxiliary metadata model for Auxiliary file metadata).
- The SAFE provenance information schemas: defining some SAFE-specific types that can be used to provide Provenance Information (as prescribed by OAIS) in SAFE Package Manifest files.
- The base XFDU and XFDU redefined for SAFE schemas: the schemas defining the structure of XFDU Manifest files and the structure of the Manifest files to be included in all kinds of SAFE Package.
