Minimize 20 Years of SAR

This multi-temporal image, created by merging three separate images acquired by the Envisat and ERS-2 satellites, shows the Three Gorges Dam. It is a hydroelectric dam built along the Yangtze River near the town of Sandouping, located in the Yiling District of Yichang, in Hubei province, China.

Completed in 2006, it is the world's largest power station in terms of capacity to generate electricity. The merging of the three satellite acquisitions (red 09 March 2010, green 19 April 2005 and blue 30 July 1996), shows the differences occurring along the banks of the river during the years.
