Logistics and transport
The event will be held at the National Maritime College of Ireland on the outskirts of Cork. More details on the College as well as maps showing its location are available on the National Maritime College of Ireland website.
No participation fees will be charged for the training. Participants are expected to finance their own travel and accommodation expenses.
ESA has negotiated special room rates in a city centre hotel located ten minutes walk from the city centre, for the duration of the course from 22 to 27 September 2013.

Free Bus Pick up in Cork City

A local contact person wearing an ESA T-shirt will be present at both pick up points on Monday 23rd to direct you to your bus. Please be on time as the bus will not wait.
Should you miss the bus, there is a public bus (223) from the Central Bus Station departing at 8:30 and arriving near the NMCI at 9:35. Otherwise you will need to take a taxi at a cost of approx. €30.

Bus Pick up at NMCI
The bus will leave the NMCI at 6:10 pm each day, with the exception of Friday when it will leave at 5:10pm. Passangers will be dropped off in Cork at a city centre location and at the Maldron Hotel.
On Monday the bus will travel directly from the NMCI to Blackrock Castle for the Icebreaker event. The bus will leave Blackrock Castle at 8:45pm and will drop passengers off at a city centre location and at the Maldron Hotel.
The Ice Breaker event will take place at Blackrock Castle Observatory on Monday 23rd from 6:30pm to 8:45pm. Finger food and drinks will be served, traditional Irish music courtesy of Torcán will soothe you after a day grappling with ocean salinity and you can enjoy the Cosmos at the Castle exhibition and chase comets in the interactive theatre. More information on the observatory can be found on their website.
