New Wave Cell Position for ERS-1 Mission

12 April 1995

The wave cell position will be centred in the SAR mid-swath until the end of the ERS-1 mission. The wave cell acquisition will start 45 km from near swath (SWST -SAR WAVE SAMPLING TIME = 106.7374µs). The first orbit to be scheduled with the new wave cell position will be the first orbit dumped at Kiruna on 14 April 1995.

Successful launch of Ariane V71

The 71st Ariane launch (V71) succesfully lifted-off last night from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, at 20:14 hrs Kourou time (01:14 hrs Paris time on 29 March 1995). The next Ariane launch (V72), which will carry ESA's Earth Observation Satellite ERS-2 on board, is scheduled to take place in the 3rd week of April 1995.

A new version of the Low date Data Processing Facility (LRDPF) software was installed and will be in use from March 22, 1995, 5:30 UTC. This modification will lead to a better accuracy of the Radar Altimeter range measurement.
