Swarm Alpha: VFM data gap from 02 to 03 June 2018

Due to an anomaly that occurred on the VFM (Vector Field Magnetometer) on board Swarm Alpha, the VFM science data (at 50 Hz rate) was not received from 02 June 2018 at 09:52 UTC to 03 June 2018 at 09:14:34 UTC.

Sicily hotspot

Launched on 25 April 2018, Sentinel-3B has already delivered some impressive first images from its ocean and land colour instrument, from its altimeter and from the optical channels of its radiometer.

With the radiometer's thermal-infrared channels now turned on, the satellite completes its set of firsts with an image that depicts thermal signatures over southern Italy, the Mediterranean Sea and Sicily.

Fuego plume

GOSAT data distribution resumed

ESA Living Planet Symposium 2019 in Milan, Italy

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming European Space Agency (ESA) Living Planet Symposium 2019 (LPS19), following the latest successful LPS event in 2016 which was attended by 3000 participants.

The LPS19 Symposium is organised with the support of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and will be held in Milan, Italy, from 13 to 17 May 2019.

  • The Call for Sessions for the Living Planet Symposium 2019 is open until the deadline of 17 June 2018.
  • Abstract submission will open after the summer season on 10 September until the deadline of 11 November 2018
  • To submit a contribution or to look for more information, please visit the Symposium website.

Swarm Charlie STR data issue fixed on 25 May 2018

With the reference to the news published on 25 May 2018, we would like to inform the users that after  performing a power cycle on the Swarm Charlie CHU3 on 25 May 2018 at 12:44 UTC, the anomalous variation in the IBAs is no more present.

Radar Altimetry Symposium 2018 - extended early registration

The European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the French Space Agency (CNES) is organising the '25 years of Progress in Radar Altimetry' Symposium, which will take place in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, Azores Archipelago (Portugal) from 24 to 29 September 2018.

All interested users should be aware that the deadline for Early Registration (at a reduced fee) has been extended until 15 June 2018.
