Dr Johanna Tamminen

Johanna has about 20 years experience on satellite measurements of the atmospheric composition. She is the Head of Atmospheric Remote Sensing group at Finnish Meteorological Institute. She is the co-PI of the Dutch-Finnish Ozone Monitoring Instrument and a member of Envisat/GOMOS Quality Working Group. Currently she is also coordinating the World Meteorological Organizations IGACO Ozone and UV secretariat.

She got her doctoral degree on applied mathematics at the University of Helsinki in 2004. Her research interests include mathematical and statistical inverse problems, uncertainty quantification, model uncertainty, Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms, atmospheric remote sensing and middle atmosphere physics and chemistry. She is also currently interested in utilizing satellite measurements of atmospheric composition in air quality and climate applications.
