An-oceanographers-guide-to-GOCE-and-the-geoid.pdf
This article was published in Ocean Science Discussions. It gives a review of the geodetic concepts necessary for oceanographers to make use of satellite gravity data to define the geoid, and to interpret the resulting product.

The Four Candidate Earth Explorer Core Missions - GOCE
The Living Planet Programme document (ESA SP-1227, available to be ordered on this Library in the General Information section) describes the plans for the Agency's new strategy for Earth Observation in the post-2000 time frame. Out of the nine Earth Explorer Core Missions identified in 1996, four Core Missions were selected for Phase-A studies, which began in 1998. In particular this is volume 1 describing in detail the Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Mission.

ESAs-Schwerkraft-Mission-GOCE.pdf
This brochure, in German language, gives an introduction to the Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Mission GOCE, an Earth Explorer Core mission due for launch in 2006. GOCE is intended to provide the unique data set required to formulate global and regional models of the Earth's gravity field and the geoid (its reference equipotential surface) to high spatial resolution and accuracy.

GUT2-WP4000-Final-Report.pdf
The objective of this workpackage is to carry out an independent validation of the various preliminary geoid models computed by ESA HPF (High Processing Facility) from the GOCE (Gravity field and steadystate Ocean Circulation Explorer) mission in order to assess their quality for oceanographic applications.

GUT2-WP6000-Final-Report.pdf
The objective of this workpackage is to better assess the accuracy of the altimetric Mean Sea Surfaces that are commonly combined to models of the marine geoid to estimate the ocean Mean Dynamic Topography, and, by geostrophy, the ocean mean currents.
