This document is a summary of quality of Aeolus data products from 4th Reprocessing Campaign covering the period from 03 09 2018 to 16 06 2019 (first FM-A laser period)
The Aeolus collection of additional products comprises the Annotated Instrument Source Packages (AISP), orbits files and a variety of auxiliary files for calibration and configuration used in the Aeolus products processing chain. The Aeolus AISP data product (TLMX__VC1) is the raw data downlinked from satellite and is available as binary data block file (.DBL) with an additional header file (.HDR). The auxiliary files cover the instrument and satellite characterization data (AUX_CHAR), the harmonic and range-dependent bias correction data (AUX_HBE, AUX_RDB), the in-flight calibration data (AUX_RRC, AUX_MRC, AUX_RBC, AUX_DCMZ, AUX_ZWC…), and the algorithm configuration parameters and settings (AUX_PAR). Furthermore, information on the atmospheric state (e.g. pressure, temperature, humidity etc. from the ECMWF Numerical Weather Predication (NWP) model) (AUX_MET) and an atmospheric backscatter-to-extinction ratio climatology (AUX_CLM) are available. The Aeolus auxiliary files are provided in Earth Explorer Format (.EEF).
