ESA is opening a set of research opportunities focused on four main topics with the common goal to explore and advance different but inter-related aspects of ionospheric research. 

Theme 1️: “Quiet” ionosphere
Theme 2️: Dynamic Ionosphere: Irregularities, dynamics, and predictive capabilities – space weather
Theme 3️: Ionosphere – Upper Atmosphere/Thermosphere coupling
Theme 4️: Ionosphere – Magnetosphere Coupling 

In addition, two extra Themes are included in this ITT enlarging its scope beyond ionosphere research:
Theme 5️: Swarm for Ocean
Theme 6️: Open Innovative Theme
