As of 13 December 2023, access to a series of ERS and Envisat atmospheric and low rate data collections changed from simple FTP to FTP-S.

The data accessible via FTP-S can be downloaded via an FTP client (e.g., FileZilla or WinSCP) using the options "explicit FTP over TLS if available" or "Require explicit FTP over TLS".

Hostname, userID, and password for the affected accounts remain unchanged.

The following ERS-1/2 and Envisat instrument data collections are subject to the FTP-S migration:

ERS

Host: ersorb-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• ERS Precise Orbit data

Host: gome-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• ERS-2 GOME data

Host: erswsc-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• ERS-1/2 Scatterometer data

Envisat

Host: gomo-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• Envisat GOMOS data

Host: scia-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• Envisat SCIAMACHY data

Host: envorb-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• Envisat Precise Orbit data

Host: envwave-ftp-ds.eo.esa.int

• Envisat ASAR Wave data
