Typhoon Talas hit Japan in September 2011, making landfall on Shikoku Island. It brought torrential rains, causing flooding and landslides across the western part of the country. The aftermath of Talas saw loss of life, widespread displacement, and damage to infrastructure. These satellite images, captured by the Envisat satellite, depict Typhoon Talas during its progression.
