Typhoon Kai-tak (Vietnam), November 2005

Typhoon Kai-tak struck Vietnam in November 2005, bringing heavy rainfall, which led to widespread flooding and destruction, particularly in central Vietnam. This image, acquired by the Envisat satellite, depicts Typhoon Kai-tak as it approached the coast of Vietnam. It shows low clouds in blue and a mix of high and low clouds in white. The coastlines have been highlighted in red to define their locations.
