Munich's Urban Evolution: A Satellite Perspective from 1985 to 2014
These Landsat 5 and 8 satellite images, spanning 29 years, depict the urban evolution of Munich. While the central area of the city shows minimal changes in infrastructure, there are notable developments, particularly in the northeast where the airport infrastructure is visible. Munich is located on the elevated plains of Upper Bavaria, approximately 50 km north of the Alps' northern edge, at an altitude of around 520 m above sea level (ASL).
