Athens and the Piraeus coast: A Satellite Perspective from 1984 to 2014

These Landsat 5 and 8 satellite images, spanning 30 years, illustrate urban growth along the Piraeus coast and in inland Attica from 1984. Athens, Greece's capital, sits on the Attic plain, surrounded by mountains on three sides and traversed by the Kifisós River in the west and the Illisós River in the east.
