Amsterdam's Urban Evolution: A Satellite Perspective from 1986 to 2014

These images, acquired over 28 years, show the urban development of Amsterdam and its surrounding areas. Changes are especially visible in the northeast and southern parts of the city. The third image, acquired by the Sentinel-1 satellite in October and November 2014, shows the city of Amsterdam using a merged combination of three radar images.
