What was the purpose of AlpTomoExp?
The AlpTomoSAR experiment has been conceived to support studies related to SAOCOMCS tomography for mapping the 3D internal structure of glaciers. The campaign took place at the Mittelbergferner, Austrian Alps, from the end of February to the beginning of March 2014 The activity encompassed the coincident acquisition of in-situ, GPR and SAR data.
What was the outcome of AlpTomoExp?
The results from this campaign have the potential to open up new cryospheric applications for the SAOCOM-CS mission, and also illustrate the unexplored possibilities offered by radar missions based on two or more satellites working as a convoy.
