An issue on the LRM waveform scaled power introduced at Baseline D, affecting the computation of backscatter, has been resolved with the transfer to operation of the new Ice Baseline E processors on 20 September 2021.

As part of the Baseline E reprocessing activity we are prioritising the reprocessing of LRM data between 28 April 2019 and 21 August 2021 where only Baseline D data is available at the moment. By doing so, it will be possible for scientists to at least have coherent backscatter observations for the entire CryoSat mission period combining Baseline C and Baseline E data.

We are progressively releasing the reprocessed Baseline E LRM products in sets of three months. Data for the period 28 April 2019 - 31 October 2019 are already available on the CryoSat Science Server.
