Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the European Geoscience Union (EGU) has officially announced the cancellation of the EGU General Assembly 2020 in Vienna, Austria.

However, to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on scientific research and collaboration, the Assembly will be replaced by the ‘EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online' (#shareEGU20) initiative, a week-long series of online activities during the first week of May to support the EGU community by fostering scientific communication.

The next edition of the EGU General Assembly in Vienna has already been scheduled to take place from 25 to 30 April 2021.
