PI Community (EOPI)

blue arrow OVERVIEW

ESA PI Community

The ESA Earth Observation Principal Investigators community (EOPI) is the point of reference for users and scientists who intend to request free access to ESA and Third Party Mission satellite data for R&D, offering also unique opportunities to access data from new scientific EO missions.

MyEarthnet enables users to request certain data products, to accept data they have previous registered for, and to submit or modify proposals for use of project data. Access to MyEarthnet requires an active EO Sign In account.

See the list of data products requiring evaluation of proposals/requests.

Project Proposal (requires an active EO Sign In account)

Proposals submitted for products will be reviewed and a product/programming quota will be assigned by ESA. ESA and ESA Third Party Mission (TPM) data are provided free of charge. ESA may however request users to provide a contribution in case of requests for very large datasets.

Specific restrictions to the use of data may apply for TPMs.

There are no deadlines for proposal submission.

Data Service Request (requires an active EO Sign In account)

Beyond the standard services for ESA (A)SAR data access, which are available to any user, some specific services related to specific data and some ESA TPM data (including (A)SAR L0, COSMO-SkyMed ESA collection, DEIMOS-1/2 and RADARSAT-1/2 data) or to specific level of performances are available. Such specific services and ESA TPM data can be granted by ESA, within technical, financial or legal constraints, to users who describe and justify their needs with a Data Service Request.

Data Service Requests can be submitted at any time. ESA's reply to the request is usually provided within a couple of weeks.
