Minimize GNSS

The Sentinel-3 GPS receiver contributes to satellite control, provides accurate on-board timing, controls the open-loop mode of the altimeter by providing real-time radial position data and provides the measurements for the final POD analysis.

The receiver on-board Sentinel-3A is capable of receiving the L1 C/A, L1P(Y) and the L2P(Y) signals of the GPS constellation. The receiver on-board Sentinel-3B is also capable of receiving the L2C signal of the GPS constellation. They can track up to eight satellites and two signal bands in parallel.

The receiver on-board Sentinel-3 C&D satellites will be able to track L1 C/A, L1P(Y), L2P(Y), L2C-M and L2C-L, and L5 I/Q signals of the GPS constellation, and the E1 B/C and E5a I/Q of Galileo constellation. It can track up to 18th satellites in two signals bands in parallel.

The receiver is capable of providing real-time positions with accuracies of 1-2 m (3D RMS) for position, and 2-3 mm/s (3D RMS) for velocity.

The Sentinel-3 GNSS receiver consists of the antenna, the harness and the receiver unit itself.
