GUT Documentation
The objective of the GUT tutorial, together with the GUT Algorithm Description and User Guide (RD3), is to assist you in getting acquainted with the GOCE User Toolbox, whose objective is to help you take major benefit from the GOCE data for your own application. This document presents a brief overview of the results of the GUT v3 project. This document presents the results of the GUT v3 oceanographic validation carried out under GUT3-WP3100. GUTS Phase 3: GUT Development and Supporting Scientific Studies The objective of this workpackage is to carry out an independent validation of the various preliminary geoid models computed by ESA HPF (High Processing Facility) from the GOCE (Gravity field and steadystate Ocean Circulation Explorer) mission in order to assess their quality for oceanographic applications. This document is the Final Report of the project carried out by a consortium led by DTU, "GUTS Phase 3: Development and Supporting Scientific Studies" in response to Statement of Work XGCE, DTEX, EOPSSW & 090001. The objective of this workpackage is to better assess the accuracy of the altimetric Mean Sea Surfaces that are commonly combined to models of the marine geoid to estimate the ocean Mean Dynamic Topography, and, by geostrophy, the ocean mean currents. This report summarises the results of the validation test carried out by Georges Balmino and DTU. Furthermore this report contain recommendations on the use of software and for the development of a possible plug-in. This report presents an initial investigation into the error characteristics of the GOCE gravity field models as they are realised in the calculated geoid anomalies. This document presents the results of the GUT v2 testing and validation carried out under WP2500. |
