Today is Global Wind Day, which couldn't be more apt for ESA's Aeolus wind satellite to begin its voyage to the launch site in French Guiana. And, while almost all satellites journey by aircraft, Aeolus is different, it's going by ship.
ESA has started a process to improve the Earth Observation data distribution services, aiming at facilitating access to data and information for the end users, initially by shortening the access path and reviewing authentication and authorisation processes.

Fiery lava continues to pour from the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island. These Copernicus Sentinel-2 images from 23 May, 07 June and 12 June 2018 show the relentless flow of lava and clouds of ash. This is an update of the Hawaii lava flow animation published on 08 June.
