An ERS-2 WindScat acquisition campaign is being organised from 17 to 24 October 2004 to coincide with the 6th Plinius Conference: Catching the Storms in the Mediterranean. The objective of the Conference is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion on Mediterranean storms, considering their meteorological, hydrological and geological aspects and their effects on the territory. As the ERS-2 WindScat is operated in alternance with SAR, there could be some minor restrictions on the SAR acquisition plan. Users are invited to submit their requests in time to allow the Order Desk to offer alternatives in case of conflicts.

ESA and EUMETSAT are pleased to announce that the second Workshop for the Meteosat Second Generation Research Announcement of Opportunity (MSG RAO) will take place in combination with the ENVISAT/ERS Symposium to be held on 6 to 10 September 2004 in Salzburg, Austria.
