GOCE completes first mapping of the Earth's gravity field

On 26 December 2009, the GOCE satellite completed its first 61-days repeat cycle.
The 979 revolutions mapping cycle has delivered a set of gravity gradients measurements and satellite-to-satellite tracking data that has a longitudinal spacing (at the equator) of less than 0.4 degrees.

ALOS ordering service limitation

02 December 2009

Due to operational constraints required for the completion of the ALOS archive migration initiated at JAXA earlier this autumn, the on-demand shipment of ALOS Level 0 data (mainly out-of-zone) not available in the EOLI-SA catalogue has been suspended until at least early 2010.

New release of EOLI-SA (v 6.2.4) available from 10 November 2009

A new release of EOLI-SA (v 6.2.4) will be available for download on the EOLI-SA web pages starting from 10 November 2009 PM.
From then on, users will be requested to perform the update in order to continue working with EOLI-SA.

Deadline for abstract submissions for the ESA Living Planet Symposium is 15 November 2009.

The 2010 Symposium follows the previous successful ENVISAT Symposia in Montreux (2007), Salzburg (2004), Gothenburg (2000), Florence (1997), Hamburg (1993) and Cannes (1992). The event will be held in Bergen, Norway from 28 June to 2 July 2010.

Result from survey on Earth Science Data Long Term Preservation

In the context of the European strategy for Long-Term EO Data Preservation and as partner of the European Union's FP7 PARSE.Insight project, ESA opened a public consultation on the long-term preservation of environmental data.
The initiative was issued in May 2009. We received a very positive feedback from the data user community who very actively participated.
